BEN HOUGHTON

Hello, I am 22 year old freelance radio producer with a First Class Honours Degree in Journalism (Broadcast) from The University of Salford.

I have always had a keen interest in radio and news. Starting in community radio, I trained at Penistone FM, where I subsequently broadcast a weekly two hour show on the station.

​

I am currently Podcast Editor at BackInBusiness, an organisation supporting small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

​

After A-Levels I moved to university, where I now study at MediaCityUK.

​

During my time at university I was heavily involved in student radio, presenting an award winning show with four fellow students and working as Head of Imaging.

​

Studying at MediaCityUK and in Manchester has allowed me to learn and gain experience in industry at the BBC and at Global.
